Color Wheelby loz1Comment: Have you tried deflecting / bouncing the flash at all? Tape a little piece of white cardboard below the flash and angle it 45 degrees upward, then tape/hold a larger piece above the flash and try to angle it so it hits the subject.
Yeah, it's ghetto, but you'd be surprised. I did this with my first digicam with some success.
Think I might have tried that photo on a white background to give some contrast against the black pencil barrels.
