#1by rinacComment: Excellent use of overlays. By using the shadows, the subject still retains a smooth sense. |

manmadeobject2.jpgby icu1965Comment: The composition is nice in this photo. The decision to break up the water, land, and sky in thirds works very well. Overall the photo is a bit grainy and hazy. I UV filter, if you aren't using one, really helps cut through the haze. |

manmadeobject1.jpgby icu1965Comment: The combination of the newly painted tanker to the rusted locomotive provides a nice contrast. Consider using the track lines to somehow help bring the viewer's eye to an object of interest instead of just cutting across the photo. My personal impression is that the near track is taking my focus right off of the edge of the photo. |

Day 2 - Soft Whitenessby KelliComment: The white is spot on. I also like the sharp focus on the stamen leaving the front and rear edges of the flower slightly off the plane. |

Day 1 - Springing Forthby KelliComment: I like the contrast in lighting between the subject and the background. It really helps bring pop the flower out. |

Cloverfieldby superclaryComment: Centering the single large clover was an excellent compositional decision. It breaks up the pattern wonderfully and ties together the entire image. If the crop was tighter, thereby cutting out the objects in the bottom left, the picture may have worked even better, at least in my eyes. |

Victoryby ZygoteComment: Nice job tying in the old fashion photo with an historic theme. The photo itself is well composed, clean of clutter, and well balanced. |

Jazz Bassicsby BoobleComment: The darkness gives a nice nightlife sense to this image and the posture/facial expression capture the blues emotion.
BTW, what instrument is that. I thought guitars had six strings and basses had four. I don't think I have ever seen a 5-string. |
