on the staircaseby nabuslComment: Not to dredge up the old expression, 'A picture is worth a thousand words', but there is something about this photograph that could inspire a novel. The posture, expression, and sideways glance give a sense of wanning anticipation. It really makes we want to read the story behind it. |

The Potter's Wheel: Centering the Clayby dsternerComment: I like the way you interpreted the challenge with the subject of the photograph rather than just the composition. The motion of the wheel plays nicely with the sharpness of the hands and background. All in all, very well done. The only detractions, and minor ones at that, are the bright reflections on the hands. |

Kittehby WildcardComment: Thank you for providing a cat photograph that is well made. The lighting, focus, and composition are perfect. When a cat shows up on my screen, my cursor tends to drift to the left side of the voting scale. You are one of the exceptions. |

Enlightenby ankursomaniComment: Excellent line of sight. I love the way the sun lies perfectly with the tip of the plant. As an afterthough, and a minor one at that, I think this shot may work even better in a portrait orientation. |

45 AUTO HYDRA-SHOK!by UNCLICKABLEComment: I can easily see this quality inside of a magazine (no pun intended). Good job on avoiding excessive reflections off of the casings. |

Spikeyby TacTZillaComment: Excellent job matching the exposure on the leaf to the background. It makes it look transparent. |

Erithronium oregonumby tnunComment: An interesting view to say the least. And why not, everyone else is taking pictures from the front, it's about time someone shows us what the back of the flower look like. One thing I started doing lately when photographing flowers is placing a piece of black paper in the background. I find that it eliminates any distractions such as the leaves on the right. It also helps the flower stand out brightly. |

Round and roundby MelethiaComment: I really like the lines in this photo. It's a bit dizzying if you look at it for too long, but not in a negative way. More of a 'fear of heights' sensation. Have you tried to take this same picture with a longer exposure allowing the people in the scene to blur? It may not work, but then again, you may get an interesting effect from it. |

Bottle Bridgeby SteveJComment: The bright sunlight is washing out much of the texture and casting unpleasing shadows on the columns. The same shot taken at dawn or dusk would have improved a lot. With the dimmer and angled light, textured surface really pop out of a photo. |
