Awesome yet so simple a thought really ! This is the type of shot I prefer to staged pens - papaers books etc, it is simple yet so meaningful to the challenge and you have captured it beautifully - the image on teh whole does appear very very sharp in the center tho and very reflective which I would have prefered toning down just a tad ( could be my new TFT monitor tho as its very bright compared to what I am used to ) Excellent job - 9

Thanks for the great comments on this shot, most were helpful and im sure your mouths are all watering but in reply to the rice being not very white and is slightly yellow, this is due to using coconut milk, it discolours the rice and this is teh end result of my best yet ;0)

Looking forward to another food challenge as its more my fortae - I think I got extra marks as the food looked quite desireable rather than the actual photograph itslef...

Picture Idea - Good, Composition - Good, BUT... Too blurred as the focal points are the black chairs which ruins the shot somewhat. Still its good and theres room for improvement - 7

More impact would have been felt for me with this shot had the girl been facing the tomb stone and having her back to the lens ! Nice mood it sets however using the moody feel of the B&W tones

It really is a great shot and I will score this as if there was only the man sitting there as loneliness / solitude to me states a single thing / object / person, had the lady not have been sat there I would have shot this with the gentleman off to the right some more and shown the rest of a empty bench ! None the less I do like this and give you a 7

Would be better for me if I could either see the fence a little better or not at all and the tree is too centred, putting it off to the side a little more and working with the so called rule of thirds would have made this tree look slightly more alone ( partly to do with the fact that there is another smaller tree next to it ! )
