Barnby GallatinComment: Nice composition. I wish the tangle of branches on the right wasn't there, but I like the contrast of the green shrubbery against the rusty roof. There's some slight flaring in the upper right corner that is a little distracting. Also the large pine tree in the very back of the image is out of place. It reminds of a midwest haybarn that might house some old relics worth more than the barn itself. Nice work! |

Orange butterflyby ccraftComment: Negative space done well. The bug looks ready to flutter off to an awaiting flower, which is unseen by the viewer. There's a sense of peace and simplicity in the position of the butterfly, leading my eye to the emptiness to the right. Very nice. |

A Bird In The Handby hallswelComment: Focus is off or this image is so heavily cropped that the resolution is lacking. Considerable noise detracts from the image. The gloved hand adds absolutely nothing to the interest of the bird and just detracts from the beauty of the animal. The subject fits the challenge description, but the lighting and position of the bird's head is uninteresting. |

Flowersby kellianComment: Beautiful. One of the few photos in this challenge that has a background color that highlights and adds value to the composition. If it were a little more contrasty and didn't have the (very) minor DOF issue, I'd give it a 9/10, as it stands it's an 8. Lovely work. |

I said...YOU Stink!by bjallenComment: Hilarious. Never in a million years could you find two pigs in this position with a camera. Great title. |

Tooth Picksby JackoComment: Blue ribbon, IMO. The depth of field is perfect, as is the composition. How can toothpicks, which look so mundane and similar from normal perspective, have such dissimilar qualities in texture and shape? My kind of photograph...10. |

Upward Spiralby dustin03Comment: Is this what I think it is--paper towel roll? I love the depth of field, it keeps me right near the middle and yet still makes my eye wander into the spiraling light. Very well done. |

Unused Spongeby ChrisW123Comment: Brilliant. The lighting and texture of this shot is *spot on*. This is exactly what I think this contest subject was aiming for. Who'd have thought a sponge would be so interesting? Congrats. |

Chanel Endingsby CatherineComment: I love it. Top three for sure. There's something so sexy and graceful about this picture. Cheers. |
