Lettuceby james_soComment: With sharper focus at the top and more dramatic contrast I think would be a fantastic shot. I really like your subject. |

Westonius Invertusby mefnjComment: Yes. I love the contrast, lighting, perspective, and framing. I just think you show too much of the subject making it too easy to identify right away. The dark area towards the bottom of the subject provides a secondary and contrasting focal point that makes it feel like too much is going on, especially for a Weston. |

Reclining, Nudeby pixelpigComment: Lovely. I think Weston would have captured everything in focus, but I think this image works so well as is and echoes Weston's aesthetic well. Nicely done. |

Mushroomby AbraComment: Hmm, I think I like the way this one fits the challenge. I don't recall Weston shooting anything so close. I do think your contrast range, lighting, framing, and presentation of form really echo his work well. I especially like that your subject is so different while capturing his approach so well. Awesome! |

Formby sfaliceComment: Awesome. At first I thought it was a gourd, but now I'm thinking it's a swan digging in the water. That reaction alone I think demonstrates a great recreation of Weston's approach. I especially like that your subject is so different from what I have seen him do. That said I think your shot has too much depth with the back being out of focus. Still, I really like it. |

Mushroomby RKTComment: Nice shot! It doesn't capture some of what I think is the best of Weston's sense of form, though there is more to his work (I love it when he captures a subject with notable depth that is conspicuously flattened thus abstracted with his capture -- I think your subject was too flat to start with to recreate that). With that in mind, I think the contrast, lighting, framing, and spirit of your shot are spot on. I really like it. |

Nude.. tribute to Edward Westonby tunnelvisionComment: Beautiful homage to a specific photo! Even before looking back at the reference shot the door bothered me. At first I thought it was too close; but looking at the Weston I think it's just too bright. In his shot the verticals of the model's form are not interfered with by the door. I think you only notice it on a second or closer look. You captured wonderful form with your model, but the door is in the way and detracts in my opinion. Also, if anything is sharply in focus, it seems to me that it's the grain in the center of the door panel and possibly the back of the towel trim. I think Weston would have the whole model in perfect focus. |

Conferenceby inshaalaComment: Hmm, I wish I knew what this was. I think you perfectly captured the best Weston sensibilities with this shot. I love the ambiguous motion and poses created by an almost abstract capture of something either unusual or just looked at unusually. I am not sure, but it does seem like the area around the brightest highlight is out of focus, so that detracts from the Westoniness. |

Avocadoby tph1Comment: Ah, wonderful selection! I love the veins visible on the pit. I would believe it if Weston had the idea for this shot (I don't recall seeing anything quite like this from him). I just wish the lighting on the avocado skin wasn't so harsh. With softer less obtrusive lighting I would have given this a 10. |

High mountian viewby cathysappComment: The contrast range, textures, framing, and tone all seem to exude Weston's style as far as I'm concerned. I think you succeeded. Nice image. |
