Elements of Friendshipby charliebakerComment: Wonderful composition. Not sure whether the big rock on the left side is perfect as it is or whether I'd want it to be lit a bit more. Still, great shot. |

Fiery Sunsetby battymaddieComment: I like the reflection of the sky in the pools at the lower right. But this is a little bit of a tough shot since it looks like the highlights are blown out around the sun, and then the rocks on the lower left are way underexposed. Possibly using a graduated ND filter would help here. |

Water to Woodby irikaComment: The texture in the wood is great. It's very distracting, though, that the horizon isn't level. Also, the way the roots are cut off on the right feels a little jarring. Maybe a more panoramic crop would look better, keeping the roots from being cut off on the right but also giving more open space on the left. |

Still life with windby hajekaComment: Interesting use of hard light. Ideally, I'd like the water glass to be a little cleaner (there are some streaks around the rim), though the bubbles in it are a nice touch. I also think this would work better stopped down for deeper DOF. |

Cavernicolous 4 elementsby EpsiComment: Good idea, but it's a little too underexposed for my taste. I end up really wanting more detail in whatever the flame is coming out of. Hard to control the highlights, though, when you're shooting directly at a flame like that. |

Earth Water Air & Fireby KarenNfldComment: Very nicely lit, though I do wish there could be a little more detail in the "earth" glass. Well-balanced composition. I particularly like the reflections in the tabletop, and the background has a very pleasing texture. I wonder how it would look if there was a little more light falloff toward the top of the background, leaving it darker behind the flame. |

Etherealby BrianRComment: I like the concept, and the blues in the water are great. The focus is too soft for my taste, though, especially in the mud. The mud is also too dark to my eye--there's enough detail there that it makes it a little frustrating that I can't see more. |

Earth, Water, Air (???) and Fireby mikearsComment: Not bad. I like the way the background is lit, though it would be nice if the "earth" glass were a little brighter. Still, the highlights are controlled nicely. The angled positioning is a nice touch, but I feel like the spacing is just a tad off--the right three seem more tightly grouped than the left one. Finally, I think that it would be good if the red candle popped a little more--the rest of the image is very close to monochrome, so the one use of color should make more of a splash. |

Canoe at Sunsetby tinky2Comment: I like the texture in the clouds and the color in the water. I think I'd prefer if the boats were either fully in silhouette or were more brightly exposed to bring out the detail. |
