Time can smooth all rough spotsby joannadivaComment: I like this image. And you have very good control of your exposure. However, I think for this challenge, it would have been more effective if you had used a faster shutter speed. The water looks too misty to be able to smooth the rocks. If the water were more visible, one would be able to equate it's movement to it's effect on the rocks. |

Into the Distanceby shareinncComment: The shadow is very interesting and, to me, has the potential to define infinity more than the fence itself. The post on the left creates a big area of darkness that distracts from the composition and takes up a lot a space. Even though the composition isn't centered, it has a feeling of being too centered and that is most likely because of the dark area and because the shadow forms an almost straight line thru the composition. |

unendingby wetlandComment: Just enough information to hold my attention, yet not enough to really identify the thing being photographed makes for a good abstract. I like the grain, too. |

Purple Rainby moodvilleComment: There are so many beautiful abstracts in this challenge, it's hard to pick a favorite. This is one of my favorites so far. Wonderful control of all the important techniques. The choice of color is perfect. It soothes instead of distracts so the viewer can enjoy the shape and texture of the composition. Nit, the soft focus on the left side, but not a fatal flaw. |

Midwest Field Cornby scrum8Comment: I think I know what you were going for, impressionistic abstract, and the attempt is OK. The dof works well. I would love to have seen at least one thing in focus. The colors look hazy. Maybe pumping up the saturation would give it more punch. This is a pleasing picture to look at though. |

Escherby crabappl3Comment: It is like some of his paintings! To me there are just too many squares for this to be an effective art image. The area on the right has shapes that transition nicely to fish. You might consider getting closer using the same angle and isolating them. This would make a good background stock image. |

Infinite winterby eikidigiComment: This a beautiful. The tonal range is outstanding. To me, the heart of the image is the icy handrails and rocks so I might have liked to see them larger within the frame. The darkness of the area around the cabin is a distraction. It's really too bad the corner of the handrail got clipped out. Sorry to sound so negative. I do really like this and keep thinking how wonderful this would look full size, hanging in a gallery. |
