| 12/22/2010 01:28:36 AM | Merry Christmas George W.by PetRockComment: Well, I maintain that art evokes emotion, and this image seemed to generate two flavors, humor and angst. Well, I continue to learn about the voting crowd here, so I guess political commentary is another thing to put on the list of things to avoid if you want high scores.
The issue of whether George W. or or his appointees who created economic policy caused the worst recession in history is as irrelevant as the photos depicting Santa Clause and his elves being responsible for the presents found under the tree Christmas morn, the image and title were meant as a representation of the economic woes we currently face just as the photos of the others are symbolistic of the christmas spirit. I think I was successful in communicating my message clearly, I will let Google, Wikopedia, and the CIA Factbook decide if my message was indeed correct. Then we can discuss if Santa really can really break all the laws of physics that he seems to every year.
Happy holidays. Live and learn. Thats what this site is all about. |

| 11/30/2010 06:12:55 PM | And a River Runs Through It...by PetRockComment: You wouldn't believe how many man-made objects were surrounding that wheel! One more day extension, and I would have had the below snow-dusted photo that hid the grate, but you can see the boat dock, and the electrical pole. If I adjusted the composition to block one thing, something else would show up, or the river wouldn't be viewable at all! Is I hal'f pressed my shutter so the light exposure would be correct at the river, I lost focus on the wheel!
Live and learn. Things to bring next time... tripod instead of monopod, camouflage netting, manual focus, and a dusting of snow! ;)
