pool partyby 2mccsComment: For the First Ten! side challenge - This is image #1o in my random voting thread: Hmmm... it does look a trio of legs and feet underwater at first glance. I still imagine what ever it is, is submerged in clear liquid, but that may be just the power of suggestion from the first impression and the title. Curious. |

Vanishing Pointby grahamgatorComment: For the First Ten! side challenge - This is image #4 in my random voting thread: This is really well done. The composition and DOF creating an interesting bokeh pattern in the background are great and the silver/green color palette is a good choice. I the main subject is hammered metallic - some kind of container with dark liquid? Really.. I have no idea. |

Abandoned Bridgeby tolovemoonComment: Hi Tracy,
This comment is part of my participation in the DPC Critique Club. This is an effective use of contrasting color to make the subject stand out from the background (and in this case, the foreground as well). The bridge is an interesting design and seems to be lacking a bottom. Makes me wonder what it might have been used for in the past. You've found a lovely setting that really reflects your location well. The river and foreground elements at the lower right help to give context and further set the bridge apart from the background. However, the subject itself is only a small portion of the image and the expansive amount of foliage tends to overpower all the other picture elements, even though the foreground left tends to a brighter shade of green. For me, nature shots with lots of green are particularly difficult, especially with small leaves being predominant. All that aside, the color contrast works well to bring attention to the subject. |
