The Volcano by heidahbComment: Icelands volcano? A quite popular theme in this challenge for such a rare phenomenon. I do think I like this one best of the volcano shots. Lovely colors and composition. |

Orange Fishby schugirlComment: While the yellow fish that is making eye contact is clearly the center of focus, I think this picture is nevertheless too busy. There are too many things that are distractions for the eye, like the tail on the bottom left corner, or the fin in the bottom right. A tighter crop might have helped here, but zooming in on one specific target while taking the picture would have been even more effective.
Also, always remember to keep your image as large as allowed without losing too much quality. Some people will vote you down due to mere image size. |

Orange Flowerby kprasad9375Comment: Abstract, and I like it. I do think the depth of focus could be a little bigger, not to put the entire "flower" into focus, but just to give a little more sharp area to look at. |

Hugh: "The Presentation of an Orange Raspberry..."by 777STANComment: The overall image has a very yellow tinge, which is not very pleasing to the eye. This could be corrected either in Photoshop using Curves or Color Balance, or in the camera itself by changing the White Balance.
The face is cute, and certainly orange, but I think voters are going to dock you because this gives a very hurried thrown together impression. |

At the playgroundby NeatComment: I like the symmetry, but this image needs a wow factor that makes it interesting to the viewer. Good use of orange. |

Dimplesby bcrantsComment: For my taste this is a little underexposed. I know that the darkness is what brings out the dimples more, which is the focus of your image. But with the darkness you are also losing part of the orange in the bottom left, which I think is necessary to keep. Good composition |

S P R I N Gby bspurgeonComment: Beautiful picture. I especially love the texture of the grasses around this poppy, fading between completely out of focus and in focus.
I do think the lighting on the flower might be a bit too bright. Slightly softer lighting (not too much of course, to not lose the contrast) and maybe zooming in a tad more, would give the flower a greater impact.
Great job. |

Xanthicby rooumComment: I am curious how/what you photographed in order to get this effect. This sort of image is generally a "taste" vote. Some people like it, some people hate it. Don't mind any of them, your taste is what matters. |

Orange Orchidby MisterMarcusComment: I am most intrigued by the background of this image. It is very interesting.
Flower is nicely in focus, and the color meets the challenge. |

Deceptionby stanmooreComment: Is that an apple on the inside?
This is a nice concept and probably difficult, but it is lacking in some quality. The coloring of the inner most layer seems "off", and the top of the fruit borders on overexposed. Perhaps playing with the lighting some more would have fixed both of these issues.
I really like the idea behind this shot though! |
