Probably an off-center composition with some negative space would have stressed the "nakedness" of the tree a bit more effectively.

I want to thank everybody for the many comments I received. I had the idea for this shot while I was taking a shower (doh!), 20 minutes before the challenge submission deadline. I took 7-8 photos, changing light, position of the hand and so on. It was funny because I was alone and had to start the timer, actually lock myself inside the shower box, remove the marks I used as a reference on the glass, position the hand - and then start over. :) The shot I submitted was taken with a neon lamp inside the shower box. The shower box itself provided the orange tone, which I subsequently enhanced because I liked the "alarmed" mood it gave to the picture. I tried also blue tones and b&w, but it didn't really work (imho).

A nice citation of Kubrick's "Shining". More attention to simmetry would have made it more powerful, probably.

Scary. The eye focuses right away on the menacing silhouette at the door, and then follows the reflected light on the floor, all the way to yourself. Scary!

Oh, another nice spiraling thing. The title "urban genetics" would have fitted this one too. :) The reflection on the glass is a little distracting, but I like the composition.

The slyline is maybe slightly oversharpened (USM artifacts). Or it might be the effect of JPEG compression. Very beautiful composition.
