The Witching Hour by Samantha_TComment: Halloween is not part of my culture and perhaps that's why the iconography of this photo doesn't appeal much to me. But in spite of this I do see an interestingly lit indoor night scene, reminiscent of Gregory Crewdson. Well done, so. |

Innocenceby Tommy_MacComment: To my personal taste, the mouth is overdone, but the upperhalf of the face makes a forceful picture nonetheless. High marks! |

Forks by DistantColoursComment: great! well defined shapes that don't give away a clue of what we're looking at. evidently, for this challenge, the bottom part is essential, but other crops will work too, and perhaps even better. |

Crossingby PaulComment: great light; more subtle contrast would've done better |

EndoValleyby hahn23Comment: Is it that you are the only one who understood the assignment, or do multiple definitions of negative space co-exist? |

agedby grahamgatorComment: Wonderful how the bottle blends in with the wall. The spots on the peel rhyme with the plaster, the table top subtly stands out in front of the bottle's shadow. Close to perfection, a litthe detail in the dark wall might do. |

S O F T by NeatComment: After rating 66 banana photos I am completely fed up with banana-humor. Here is one of the very few where the photo it self is worth the attention, rather than the "funny" idea... It's a beautifully simple still live with a deceivingly simple compositin. The colours, light and softness all work together to get the feeling of a classical image. This one can hang on the walls for years, without becoming bored with it. Full marks! |

Foraging by SimmsComment: the left is too heavy with all the black. If you're not afraid of a cliche, you could make it softer still |
