Strawberryby hajekaComment: Just a touch underexposed. It seems as though the berry needs a bit of contrast. |

Shadowsby GinaRothfelsComment: Lot's of grain here looks to be from tonemapping and high ISO. The tones are coming out more brown than speia, but that is to taste. I think there are still a lot of dust marks and spots on the glass that could have been dealt with in post. |

Simplicityby Dr.ConfuserComment: The little swath of light is awesome. What's great about this image is the control. You blocked a lot of info out and added in only what was needed to be shown. What's missing is the sharpness! |

Eleganceby JudiComment: Perfect outline of light and the blue and grey are nice together!! Great repeating pattern and symmetry! Just a touch off of symmetrical on either edge... |

bottles in the windowby grahamgatorComment: Happy little still life with great color. Looks like you did some tonemapping though I may be wrong the tones do look wonderful! I also like the circles of confusion throughout! |

Collectionby KelliComment: Very low key, but also low light as there is not a whole lot of luminosity. Liking the collection! |

Bradenton June 029by bennettjamieComment: Wonderful job with the shot. I'm sure you had to be very patient to find the right time to shoot your subject. Love the portrait orientation and the composition of your subject demands it. You did great to get the eye in the top right third and I like how the diagonal line of the beak leads me through the rest of the image. I think the depth of field is good and serves to separate the subject from the background well. Your camera work was done very well with a fine eye toward composition.
For post processing, I would like to see the bird a little brighter. Bring some fill light into the situation with a few adjustment layers like levels and brightness/contrast while masking off the background. You can also work the eye a bit to make it pop and really create that focal point.
Overall a quality photo worthy of a spot on the wall at any beach house in the world! Message edited by author 2012-07-08 13:16:51. |
