I think the composition is nice and the exposure and post processing are good, but the weather is not cooperating with you. The overcast day makes the lighting lacking in contrast. You shot it well, but with no real good shadows or dramatic side lighting, this is a lackluster landscape in green, tan and grey.

In this shot, the composition could be improved dramatically by using the rule of thirds more precisely, framing the shot so there is less head room and adjusting your viewpoint by getting down low and shooting the child from his vantage point. It looks as though you are shooting above him looking down. And with him looking up, it makes the child seem insignificant when in fact he is the star of the shot.

Background is everything... The cars are very distracting and kill the emotional appeal of the image. The solution to this is to either change the DoF to blur the background or rotate your position to eliminate the clutter. But a great quote from the movie none the less!!

Couple issues here technically. The color is a bit off. It's a little too cool which makes the skin color a little greyish. Compositionally, rule of thirds is good. The model did a nice job conveying the emotion. I get the emotional connection of the person looking away given the title, however there is no connection with the viewer. I would rather see the persons face in profile or otherwise looking out of the frame but still be able to see the eyes.
