This is a photo from Upper Beaver Meadows. The Fern Lake Fire is burning on the ridge of Beaver Mountain. I thought there might be a connection with "the Fire Swamp". I sure don't know, as I've never seen the movie or read the book.

In reply to the comment about "low contrast" and "lackluster": It was a stormy, rainy day. There was a wildfire smoldering just over the ridge, which was not mentioned by the commenter. The sky had much t-storm drama. Not every day is a sunny day. I think the contrast is just fine with a full range of pixels from tone 0 to 255. No blown out highlights, nor detail lost in the shadows. Definitely not a lackluster image to me.

I think the composition is nice and the exposure and post processing are good, but the weather is not cooperating with you. The overcast day makes the lighting lacking in contrast. You shot it well, but with no real good shadows or dramatic side lighting, this is a lackluster landscape in green, tan and grey.
