in loveby aznymComment: You have truly captured the emotion of love on their faces. Just looking at the man's eyes and the womans smile is enough!! You know it when you see it, that's for sure! Excellent presentation using the rule of thirds and very well exposed so there are no harsh highlights or deep dark shadows. Awesome job! A ten and I hope this winds up on the front page! It is simplisticly photographed with no gimmicks! |

He Protects Meby JudiComment: I am looking at this photo and I think the depth of field is a little shallow. You captured the cat and the front of the arm very sharp and in focus, however, the face is slightly out of focus. I experience this all the time with my 50mm f1.8 lens. I have since consulted the Online Depth of FIeld Calculator and learned some things... Using f2.2 with a focal length of 50mm at a distance of 3 feet on a 1.6x sensor you get an effective range of focus of about 1 inch.
Just fixing that one minor issue would make this photo a perfect ten!! |

Motherly loveby cassilda_terryComment: Very evenly lit. I am not an expert but I think a reflector would have been good to use to add light to the mothers face and brighten up the shadow between them |

This Little Heart Of Mineby kettleComment: The fire hydrant in the background adds a bit of humor to this pet portrait! However the forground could have been better chosen as the dirt patch does not look too good. |

Be My Valentineby AmmieComment: The very soft and muted colors give this a vintage and almost film like quality. The photo has a yellow color cast to it, which seems to be the reason for the muted feel. There is some shadows at the top where the candlelight hits the wall but the bottom of the photo is very flat. Overall, I like the vintage feel of this still life and think it meets the challenge well. Definitely something out of the ordinary. |

His Love by VpphotoComment: Excellent lighting and set up. Good Depth of field. You are in John 3, but due to the position of the subject on the page and the shallow DoF you can't really see verse 16 pertaining to God's love. You can see the verse about the money changers clearly where he made a scourge to drive them out of the temple, but that speaks more to the Wrath of God than his love. Try repositioning this so that the greatest love verse of all is apparent. Or you can try other great love verses in the bible, such as in 1 Corinthians 13 among others. |

Six Years Together, Over 100 Years Cumulative With First Spouses!by 777STANComment: A great capture of a couple who have weathered the years together. Obvious love is portrayed here. I would suggest you kick this up a notch by moving the subjects to a more condusive setting for portraits rather than leaving them on the couch. Try near a window or something. The busy background kind of detracts |

I Love My Bababy vladoComment: The Post Processing gives this a really cool film look. It does have a very yellowish color cast. The high contrast and enhanced sharpening of the photo makes it loose a little of that loving feeling. I enjoy the Depth of Field which is spot on! |

A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love. by el3radiiComment: Excellent title, very good image. I am not too fond of the fill flash or the yellow roses in the background. I would say in order to improve upon this, get closer and shoot from above using some better light. The flowers and the babies breath appear to be wilting whic adds greater meaning to the title. Overall a good shot! |
