Before Piercingby darylbrownComment: Different idea and a great experssion on her face. I think this would have worked a lot better if it had been a tighter vertical crop mainly of her (almost like a portrait) and the hand holding the swab a little closer. This would cut out all the unnecessary curtain space to the left and minimize the "clutter" on the wall behind. The colors also seem just a tad off -- I'm guessing because you were shooting under fluorescent lights. |

Tail Number 90003by csbComment: This is one of the Air Force One planes, right? I'm not sure I understand why this is a fear. If it had been a plane in flight, I would have got the fear of flying, but one on the ground seems a little bit harder to accept. Beyond that, the picture is very dark (obviously, since it was taken at night) and kind of bland with the plane centered right in the middle of the photograph. |

Acrophobics Nightmareby andrewmComment: The idea is great, but this doesn't look like much more than just a holiday snap. Could you have waited for people to get out of the way? I dig the sign though, an important part of the picture. :-) |

is fallingby defrostedComment: Liked the hand held shakey motion blur when it was used with the car crash a few challenges ago -- but it doesn't work for me here. Plus when I take your title into account -- well, I thought that London Bridge had been shipped, stone by stone, to somewhere in Arizona but the license plates are European... But that's just me being nit-picky -- not making me alter my score :-) |

Fear of ownby logihelguComment: OK, admittedly I don't get the fear aspect of the shot -- but it feels like it could work so I'm not going to lower my score for that reason. What bothers me is how over-exposed this is. I wouldn't mind so much if the background stayed the same, but it seems like the crabs and their shadows need to be darker to pull this off. I like the composition and the negative space. |

That's Close Enough!by autoolComment: Very sharp. Nice DOF. Appreciate that the shadows fromt he flash are mostly all hidden behind the nest. I like the upside down composition and the minimal color. If I had to find fault, it would be with the streak that, I assume, is on the wood behind the wasp -- it looks like it's coming out of its tail? I'd consider cloning that out in future versions -- but nothing you can do about it for this competition. |

Captivityby arnitComment: Very simple and very effective. I have a similar shot, but it used a strange pinwheeling metal wall emplacement to keep people out of a backyard (and probably pigeons off the wall). You've got some problems with the clouds -- those on the right are blown out while those on the left are gray and kind of murky. I think I would have tried to keep more texture in the ones on the right. I'd suggest (even tho I like the color) seeing what this one looks like in B&W as well. Make it a little more stark. Good work. |

Arachnaphobiaby burlapComment: I think in terms of composition, this is one of the best spider shots this week. Looks like it may have been shot with a flash which kind of blows out the contrast. Also looks like you either have a lower end camera or you had to blow this up significantly for it to fill the frame -- it's very grainy and so you lose a lot of the fine detail. |

Dollhead's Revengeby jgillComment: OK, creepy. Wish the dolls head wasn't so close to the center of the picture. Maybe closer to one of the corners and angled a bit more. Did you do the eye? That's probably the freakiest part of the whole thing -- too bad it isn't a little bit more obvious. |

Should Have Studied Last Nightby sheyingshi88Comment: Maybe I've spent too much time in similar situations, but this picture doesn't work for ME for one simple reason: if this was an open book test, as it seems to be from the shot, I wouldn't give up eevn if none of the questions made any sense to me. :-) Nevertheless, I totally understand the fear -- had "nightmares" about simialr situations plenty of times, so I'm being very lenient. My only truly constructive criticism would be that the tone of the whole thing feels a little too warm, too yellow. I'd consider changing the hue a bit to something a bit more blue which would make it feel a little less inviting. |
