A little shyby MelethiaComment: Weren't you talking about having having your scores in the 5's in the TS thread? ;)
Great job, the eyes and feathers really stand out. Also the colours of it's beak flap (I don't really know what that's called) are interesting. |

Smelly Katby TimosabyComment: The coloured eyes look great! At first I thought the tail was a 5th leg and then I realized I'm just dumb haha |

Nostalgieby odriewComment: I was just looking through your portfolio after the critique I gave you. I really like this image, The hanging tree branches (I think that's what they are at least) make nice diagonal lines with that white line in the background. Also I scored this pretty high during voting :). Good stuff! |

Centenarianby odriewComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Sorry about the wait for your critique, this is coming out of the backlog!
First off I just want to say that not everyone is a fan of sun flare, I've used it in an image and it didn't do too great. Personally I'm neutral, I'm not going to vote an image down just for having it. Usually it adds some nice colours and gives the picture a cool effect. Like what you did with it here. I gave this a 7 during voting, the only thing I would have liked to see added to this picture would be the tree in full if possible. The meeting of sky and earth through the tree is really nice though, good greens and blues. You finished in the top 50% at least!

The first thing I notice right away is the size of your image, challenges can take pictures that are up to 800 pixels wide or high. It might increase your scores to use as much of that space as you can. It's a nice sunset picture, I like the sun setting in the distance, the mountains on the far shore and the wave crashing against the rocks. It just seems like it's missing something, it might just be the grain or it's a little out of focus or something. For future challenges I suggest looking up how to set the size of your images in whatever program you use for post processing. Best of luck!

I feel that the blurred out blinds did help to enhance the image, they give you the perspective of actually being there. I gave you a 7 for this image. The contrast between snow and tree is very striking. The only thing that could be changed would be to add some height. Although the border wouldn't work as good and the blinds wouldn't be as good. Taking some space off the sides wouldn't be good so I guess it's perfect like this haha. Congratulations on this image making it to your profile. Mine is set to show the top 9 pictures.

My first impression upon seeing this image is that it was pretty amazing that you captured one rainbow so clearly and that you even managed to get a second in the background, very cool! It looks a little bit over saturated in the yellow and greens but it's not bad, it really brings out the colours in the rainbow. The only other thing that brought your score down is the title. The other commenters seem to agree that it is a little too long. I wasn't a fan of it, I gave you a 6 but I might have given a 7 with a better title. I see you've entered 16 challenges since you've joined. Keep up the great participation!

Work Boots by NikonJebComment: Jeb I really liked this! In the Team Suck thread you said it wasn't that great, I think you were just too critical of your own photo. The black and white looks great, that reflection is perfect and I feel that the background being full of stuff actually adds to this. Congratulations!
