Curbed Growthby amateurboiComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
First Impression: Didn't make it to your image in the few pictures I voted on so this is my first time seeing it. The other comments you received during the challenge do a good job of explaining why you scored low. I think I would have given this a 5. It's an interesting plant but there isn't a main focal point.
Composition: I think you should have straightened it out a bit more if you were going to have it in the middle, as it is right now its tilting a little bit. Another way is to have it diagonal with something else included as well.
Subject: This is a really interesting different plant, I would have liked to see more of it. Meets the challenge well. The top is out of focus, if it was all in focus might be more interesting.
Final thoughts: The main reason you were hit with a lot of low scores is due to the lack of interest in the picture. Sure it's an interesting branch but not much more than that.

MegaGrowthby RohnComment: For your next challenge try to use more of the allowable image size. The max is 800 pixels by 800 pixels and you will receive a betterscore if you are closer to that. |

From The Ground Upby Luci11eComment: I liked this shot, reminds me of a tree near the Detroit river that I used to always go to as a child. |

Extensionby colorcarnivalComment: This is awesome, would have been nice to also see a man stepping through here, in the style of The Exorcist. |

flowby posthumousComment: When I first joined the site and saw some of your images I didn't really understand them or think much of them. But now I've noticed I've been voting them a lot higher now and I like them more than the general population. I'm a little scared ;).
I felt this represented the flow from natural trees to their transformation into telephone poles. It's just great |

Catch The Rainbowby GeneralEComment: I now crave skittles, thanks ;)
I like the minimalist approach, the only thing I would have liked more is to darken the colours or have them more obvious. |
