Greetings from the Critique Club!
First Impression: Didn't make it to your image in the few pictures I voted on so this is my first time seeing it. The other comments you received during the challenge do a good job of explaining why you scored low. I think I would have given this a 5. It's an interesting plant but there isn't a main focal point.
Composition: I think you should have straightened it out a bit more if you were going to have it in the middle, as it is right now its tilting a little bit. Another way is to have it diagonal with something else included as well.
Subject: This is a really interesting different plant, I would have liked to see more of it. Meets the challenge well. The top is out of focus, if it was all in focus might be more interesting.
Final thoughts: The main reason you were hit with a lot of low scores is due to the lack of interest in the picture. Sure it's an interesting branch but not much more than that.

| Sorry, I don't see much of a focal point here, and there's just not that much visual interest to draw me into the image. |

| This shot is excellent at the bottom but fades at the top. It is very sharp and in focus on the trunk of this behemoth but at the top the sharpness and the focus fades and there is some wicked chromatic abberation too. The curving branches lead your eye up to the top of the photo where there is nothing there to focus on. |
