Nice shot, almost an abstrack... it took me a moment to identify this as a fire truck. I'd have liked to see a shallower DOF to isolate the truck from the back wall.

One of the strongest entries this challenge. Nicely done.

A strong entry, but both the photograph and the title suggest more of an advertisement than heroism. Still good execution.

Nice concept, but a cluttered background. This might be better with just the man's head and the comic book in the frame, with as little incidental background as is practival.

It seems the focus of this shot is on the child and not the action figure. Since this challenge is Heroes, and the action figure seems to be the subject, that's probably where the focus should be.

Nice car photograph, but your title does not make this photograph about heroism.

While I understand the watchdog concept, this photo in and of itself does not speak heroism to me. From a photographic standpoint, I find the lighting harsh and unappealing, looks like an on-camera fliash -- in any case a softer light (or multiple lights) would have softened the shadows and, in my opinion, made this photograph more appealing. Ultimately, I think the key to making a dog photograph work in this challenge would have been to photograph the dog *doing* something that suggested heroism.

This is a good concept but the composition could use some work. The girl standing is directly centered in the frame, which tends not to make for a strong composition. Also I personally find the dark horizon cuting right below her neck neck visually unappealing. A shallower depth of field may have helped in that regard. Finally, your horizon is tilted, which also tends to be visually troubling. Your color and contrast are excellent.

The composition and concept on this photograph are excellent. I'd have liked to see the barrel of the gun a little darker... maybe burned a little. 8.

Good symbolic take on the challenge. Maybe a little esoteric for most voters but I quite like this.
