This is a really spectacular shot. I cannot give it a really high mark as I don't feel that is really fits into the challenge.

really good location, I don't think I would have had him so centred though, maybe tried to get his head framed by the eye.

really nice unique shot. It looks like you may have shot this hand held maybe try a tripod next time. Also I think a lot could be gained with some post processing of the brick wall. i.e. more contrast

Good take on the challenge. I think that you needed a bigger depth of field so both the soldiers hat and memorial are both sharp. I think the composition might need some work, I would have included some more of the memorial and the solders face.
