Interesting image, but the suddenness of the transition on the hard surface from blurred, to sharp, and back to blurred is unnatural, and to my eyes detracts from the overall image.

Wow, that's fun and I unless I'm mistaken it even rotated 90 degrees on the way up!

Well, that's interesting. I just looked at all the challenge submissions and noticed that most of them have the same orientation as this. When I was initially looking at this I had just finished processing my moonset images, and the difference jumped out at me, but I hadn't thought about the fact that the orientation of the moon might be different between evening and morning. I'll have to ponder that one.

Lovely shot, I like that you chose B&W. I gave it a 9. The light on his cap and beard provide great texture, and the cap, beard, and the rings on his hand provide a nice triangle of interest that holds my eye. Congratulations on your first ribbon and a PB!
