Kind of an atmospheric photo, but the composition is flat. The two trees together compete for attention. I love the effect of the branches against the sky, but the grass in the foreground is dull and doesn't add anything.

I love the colours in this. It seems a little bit overexposed in places, but I don't mind. It adds to the brilliance of the overall effect here. Great framing and nice DOF too.

I love the framing of this. It makes me feel like I'm high up in a tree, in a cramped place. The colours and shapes of the twigs are really nice. You've thought a lot about the challenge topic too. It shoes a lot more insight than a lot of the photos, which don't really feature things that were "made" by anyone (unless you're religious). One of my 10s.

Great composition. The berries all seem to explode from a central point. The colours are also very rich. DOF is just right to distinguish this bunch of berries from its background. A very good photo.

Interesting... however, I think this photo has a lot of problems. The light is too hard, and flares off the water drops. It would be good to diffuse it and bounce it off something (white card, etc.) to fill the shadows. The colours are a bit muddy. It would be nice to try underexposing it a bit and boosting those colours in post processing. The composition seems a bit flat and chaotic. A closer crop, etc. would be good to try. And lastly, it seems as though the focus is on some of the background rocks, leaving the foreground object a bit blurred.

I think this is a neat idea that could be really cool if you tried it again with improved lighting and played with it in post processing.

I love the shallow DOF here, and the lovely sweeping composition of the twigs. That dappled light in the background is lovely. Very atmospheric.

Fairly nice composition, but the contrast is a bit too low. The photo seems washed out, with very harsh sunlight. Obviously, in the kinds of climates you find prickly pears growing, you will have strong sunlight to deal with, but photographing the subject in the dawn or dusk light would help this a bit. The shadows make this look like late afternoon or mid morning, times when the light will still be harsh.

This is interesting, but I think the composition is a bit off. That leaf on the top left leads my eyes out of the photo, and draws attention from the little berry. I actually think flipping it horizontally, at the very least, would strengthen this photo. Try it!

Nice colours though, and I really like the way the light filters through the ice around the edges of everything.

Very nice. I love the diagonal formation of the clouds, and their increasing darkness towards the lower right corner. I feel like the colours are a bit muted, but that may work better in this photo than a really bright blue sky. I like it a lot, nonetheless.

Very cool location. I love the steam and the red.. stuff on the side (it can't be lava, can it?). It's a weird, alien landscape, nicely framed. The light seems a tad harsh, and maybe you could have cropped it more, because those rocks in the foreground are a little bit busy. Nice work though.
