This is beautiful. I can't fault it. I especially love the blue theme, a colour that shows off the smoke so beautifully and compliments the carbon on the burnt match. Perfect composition. 10 from me.

I love the lighting in this. Those candles have lovely halo effects around them. However, the photo doesn't quite work for me. I think it's the composition, mostly. The little candle at the side draws too much attention away from the other objects. Apart from it, the lines are an L shape, which feels a bit blocky.

Gawd... the time we women are encouraged to spend rubbing goo into our skin because "we're worth it".... I think I'm worth a yacht cruise myself :P.

The composition of this is great, and that image in the background is striking. It doesn't appeal to me though. It feels like something from a women's magazine, and I react against that kind of self-esteem manipulating, fraudulent cosmetics-selling drivel. I blame my mother for raising me as a feminist :P.

This photo seems a little pale and washed out on my monitor (which is calibrated for graphics work). Some more contrast would be good. The composition is OK. I'm not sure that your shallow DOF, blurring the foreground kernels, is really necessary for this photo.

I respect your sentiments, but this looks like a photo of a kid's school project... not wanting to sound harsh. The composition is a bit chaotic, and the only thing that makes it seem like it isn't a photo of a work of art in its entirety (something that isn't allowed in the rules) is the camera angle.

I love the grain and dramatic shadows. There's something really foreboding about this photo that makes me feel as though it's metaphorical. We're talking about universal fear of ageing and death here! Very creative.

This is gorgeous. Very well conceived and photographed. You obviously put a lot of time into it, and it paid off. I think this photo is perfect. 10!

The connection to the challenge is absent without the title. The photo is an interesting candid shot of some guys making fools of themselves, with effective composition. I'm sure a lot of people will call it a "snapshot", but I would disagree. I don't know that I like it overly much though.

The photo is very nicely lit and exposed and the composition is effective. Looks like you used noise removal? The skin on the hand looks kind of odd. On theme and well photographed, but not a photo that grabs me.

The soft focus on this was due to my model not holding his head still while I used a fairly long exposure, because I was shooting indoors with just the room lights and an ordinary lamp. I don't own lots of lights, but I didn't want any major shadows on his face, so I had to shoot indoors. I also didn't have time to reshoot once I saw that the focus was soft (I couldn't see that on the LCD screen). I was too busy that week. So I did the processing and submitted. I'm happyish with how it went. I thought I'd get some more amusing comments though :P.
