I think that this would have been stronger if you included a bit more of the model's torso. As it was it took me a moment to identify what this silhouette was. It would have also been less ambiguous if her arms were held somewhat more in front of her head. I like the non-intrusive background.

I feel like the item in his hand should give me some clue as to why he looks so forlorn, but I can't make out what it is.

Mystic dreams

I almost missed the ghostly figure on the path in front of the blast of water. Because their red shirt blends in so well with the orange hillside, their shoes were the thing that caught my eye. This image would be a bit more dream-like if the figure was more prominent.

Something about the props make this look like a snapshot of a scene in a school play. Your model's posture and facial expression make it look like she's quietly resigned herself to whatever is about to happen. Since it looks like things are not going well for her, this picture would be stronger if she showed more emotion. Since the eyes and mouth are two important sources of emotional queues, blindfolding your model reduces my ability to sympathize with her. Increasing the amount of light on her face would improve the shot as well.

If I could find a picture of the image that your title eludes to I might be better able to appreciate this photograph. Your model seems to be looking at something, but not intently or emotively enough for me to really be interested in what it might be. The jewelry and watch that she's wearing are somewhat distracting, and the strong light and her dark clothing make her look rather pale. A shallower DOF centered on the girl would have helped to direct my attention to her (as it is, I'm distracted by the odd shadow that makes it look like there's a face on the ground behind her head). Taking this photograph on a more overcast day would have helped to soften the light.

Low Carb Diet = Dreams of Chocolate

The M&Ms don't seem to be in very sharp focus. While the lace lends some texture to the image, I think that dry ice clouds curling around the base of the goblet might have made this feel less like a chocolate advertisement.

I can't tell if this is overexposed or if my eyes are just having trouble picking out detail because of the really bright sky. The large amount of negative space wouldn't feel so mis-allocated if I could make out more features in the bottom of the image.

The faded, old photograph feel works well here. I think that a little less brightness and perhaps some scratches on the image would have enhanced the presentation. The hot spot on the bottom of the apple is a little distracting. The knees bending in the wrong direction is a nice touch, but I can't help but think that I ought to see your arms (or whatever they've become) lying about somewhere. As a surreal photograph this is fairly good. You're on your own for the interpretation of this dream though.

I'd find this far more interesting of there was some recognizable feature in this image. Even a feverish abstract will have more impact if there was a hint of reality present in the mad wash of colors.

The row of pillars leads my eyes toward the top of the image, while the white pole and piece of cloth draw my attention back to the foreground. A shallower DOF to direct my attention to something in particular, or a more human element (e.g. a shoe, a picture frame with shattered glass) would have helped this image to stand out from the others in the challenge.
