A little more light on the near side of the woman would have helped to even out the illumination. Including her lower half might have improved the image.

This isn't a title I expected to see, nor is it the image that I would have expected given the title. The scene exceeds the dynamic range of your camera on both ends, leaving the dark coat underexposed and the saddle blanket and numbers overexposed. This tutorial may have helped you to retrieve some of the missing information in these regions.

This looks like a snapshot. The harsh light from the flash isn't particularly flattering for either of the subjects.

Increasing the contrast and toning down the bright white shirt would give this image a boost. The crop seems a little more aggressive than I like. I'd rather see either their faces filling the frame or include a bit more context; chopping off the father's scalp and the back of the daughter's hand gives this a slightly claustrophobic feel.

The downtown lights look overexposed. The silhouettes of the trees would have been much stronger against a sky with more clouds; in lieu of that painting them with light might have produced interesting results as well.

This appears to have been lit by a flash, which caused the objects surrounding the camera to be better lit than your intended subject. A light source behind the person would help to separate them from the surrounding darkness, while preserving the atmosphere.

This is the 53rd image I've seen, and the 11th with this title. The soft focus looks intentional, but I think that it would have been a stronger image if the focus was sharper.
