Long Time Idleby aliquiComment: A nice clean image with a delicate sweep of focused area deftly treated with a clever use of DOF. The highly figured leaf only enhances the image's impact on the viewer. This should be a top twenty image and certainly a worthy contender for a ribbon. |

Taste and Textureby gunsmith6Comment: A variety of shapes and colors. The washed out white detracts from the image's overall impact and the details in the carrot slices are missing. A little more lighting control to reduce the white spots created by reflecting the light would have helped. A unique presentation which falls just a little short. |

Tree ringsby Jelena73Comment: A difficult angle to work with, but the DOF control is excellant. The image does demonstrate texture is various ways, but it feels flat and uninteresting. |

button up...by moondog19Comment: An interesting idea, but the image is too small and not detailed enough to score higher. If it were larger with a little more interest, it would be a good solid entry into the challenge. |

The old shed doorby burtctComment: A top submission illustrating the variable nature of texture with a very elegant and simple entry. No major flaws and it's initent is clear. A great entry into the challenge and worthy of top ten consideration. |

The Great Divideby KarlsenComment: The author's intent with respect to titling the submission is a good concept. This is a hard image to rate if only because the overly white tone and slightly over done white blooms. It might have scored better with the rather vague bottom third cropped out. |

Cantaloupeby bobccComment: A nice absract concept - the author thought this out and composed it properly with solid DOF control and not over exposing the object to light. A very worthy entry into the challenge and should be a 25 image. |

God's textureby ketakiComment: Too much blank space which detracts from the subject. The shadow on the bottom of the image is a negative. This would have worked much better with at least a third cropped off the top of the image to increase the impact of the subject matter. |

Texture of an onionby hajekaComment: This would have been a very outside the norm image if the detail of the onion had carried through to the right side of the onion. The odd lighting bleached out the detail. The lighting needed to be better controled to reduce the odd sparkles from the onion juice on the left. The image does workk well with the background. |

Boulder Brainsby spiritualspatulaComment: The odd shape of the object created an interesting DOF effect that is very interesting. The colors and shapes make this a worthy entry into the texture challenge. |
