Ringerby rider808Comment: A good and different entry into the challenge, the image prodived both aspects of technical and artistic success. The image does have the apperance of being slightly over sharpened on the vertical axis of the stake. An ingenious approach and a good action shot make this a worthy entry into the challenge with top twenty potential. |

Leafby andrijaComment: Wonderful lighting and color control make this a top contender for a ribbon and certainly a top ten finisher. Elegant and simple, this demonstrates the challenge subject is speactular fashion. |

Under a rock in the oceanby urabusComment: An interesting treatment, but the overly bland appearance of the subject is uninteresting which is a negative. A blend of some artistic and technical aspects, it is a good entry into the challenge. |

Grainyby floyd923Comment: An image with some aspects of artistic success, but some significant flaws from a technical standpoint. It would have been better to concentrate on the sweeping curve and provide more detail of that particularly interesting area. Under proper control, the DOF would have helped rather than hurt this effort and made is a solid contender for top placement in the challenge. |

Chics............n...........hens.........by PikkelComment: An intriguing idea which just falls short of being a top placing image. The texture demonstation is fine, the image just lacks interest to the viewer. A little tighter on the chick would have helped a lot along with better DOF control |

What was left of Summerby TechoComment: An artistic success with some minor technical flaws in what appear to be hot pixels which negatively impact the image. The contrast between smooth, nearly smooth and highly figured is a brilliant idea. A near miss for top ten honors and should place well in the top ten percent of the challenge. |

The Dried and The Dryingby sekarmalathyComment: An artistic and technical success with one minor issue not worth mentioning. A worthy entry for top twenty five honors, the elegant simplicity evokes some of the Master's. |

High Waterby davidwComment: This might have worked better if the author has concentrated on the curve and sweep of the water rather than try to split the image in two vertically. Alternatively, more of the white water or more of the falls would have helped, although the lack of detail in the former might have hurt. A good entry into the challenge by comparison. |

Hermit Crabby brens29Comment: Good DOF control although it might have been bettere to back off the shot just a little to get more detail. The background doens't necessarily add anything to the image, but it works efficiently. A good entry into the challenge. |

Banana Leavesby lawrysimmComment: An image with much to recommend it. The subtle color control and angled presentation make this a very intriguing image. Clear, crisp and without siginifant issues in any technical area. A worthy competitor for top twenty five honors. |
