Congrats from your 135th place neighbor... good rhythm and pattern in this shot. Maybe it would be a bit more dramatic if the lighting were off to the side a bit. I think the comment about the banana isn't a bad one, perhaps another something in the photo to contrast the background.
ETA: also... I agree with you... shoot for challenges. Make a goal of a certain number per month---you'll see your photography improve quite a bit. I'm no pro, but I've gotten much better than when I started!

| Well done. Maybe some added interest if you strategically placed a yellow banana just off to the edge. Many of the texture shots shots in this challenge that I find intriguing have great texture but also give me something to focus on besides the texture. It sort of breaks up the monotony that way. This one however is one of the best of those that have only texture and nothing else. |

| An image with much to recommend it. The subtle color control and angled presentation make this a very intriguing image. Clear, crisp and without siginifant issues in any technical area. A worthy competitor for top twenty five honors. |

| from a processing point of view, everything looks great. good contrast, sharpness, etc. i really like the diagonal lines and i think this works well for the challenge. artistically, it's kind of lacking the wow factor |
