Steamtown National Historic Siteby GryphxComment: A little better lighting control reducing the highlights would have been a plus. Not an overly interesting image from an artistic sense, it does provide a lot of detail and color differences. A little more thought into the composition would have made for a better image. A good entry into the challenge, it falls just short of being truly effective. Perhaps a little change in viewing angle would have helped. |

The biggest train wreck...by PikkelComment: Laugh out loud funny and so totally outside the box that it has to be rated a ten just for the whimsy and clever title. A little over active in the imagination department is a huge plus. Not quite matching the challenge subject, it none the less is a welcome moment of levity and jocularity. Very well done. |

Oil wagonby perjorgenComment: A very antique look is a huge plus. While the white streaking could be viewed as a negative, it adds to the image as these types of flaws were very common on glass negative plates. A very unique look at the subject matter, this will surely be a ribbon contender if only for it's perfectly executed concept. An artistic and technical success in every sense. Well done. |

"You Have Reached The End" by tjmuellerComment: A brilliant concept and perfectly executed. Initially, the image looks like an object lying against a colored wall, but then the eye shifts and it's perspective is revealed. Simply a wonderful idea. The author should be very proud of this image because of it's technical and artistic success. If there were a DPC Hall of Fame, this would be a worthy image to enter. Well done - a blue ribbon if there is any justice in the world. :>) |

OLL 15by riderComment: Not quite a technical success due to unfortunate white highlights. Solid and effective tone control on the sepia conversion. While a fairly common angle for this type of image, the slightly different height is a plus. If the lighting and highlights had been better controlled, this would have been a ribbon contender. A good solid entry into the challenge. |
