The sense of "moment" is present in this image and the obvious character being captured is intent on placing the ear plugs. Technically and artistically, it seems a little dull which may be the lighting conditions in addition to being, well frankly uninteresting. A good entry into the challenge just lacking that something special to make it stand out.

This is an image that is very hard to properly rate because of a major technical issue which is over sharpening. A more natural presentation without the sharpening issue would have made this a top ten as it's a very natural and expressive candid moment. The image may not have needed any sharpening boost either to the edges or the subject. A good entry into the challenge unfortunately affected by a technical issue.

While obviously a "candid" moment, images of this type are hard to review if only because it's unclear where it meets the challenge subject criteria or not. In this case, it's better to error on the side of caution. A very expressive pair, these terrific apes are shown to be almost human in their demeanor. Originally scored a 7, this is rerated to an 8. A worthy entry into the challenge.

It might have been better to concentrate on the subjects in the foreground rather than the entire image which is too tall to be truly effective. A good conversion to black and white, the overall contrast is a little flat to be termed excellant. A worthy entry into the challenge.

A technically competant image and an excellent conversion with a clever observation for a title, this image suffers from a little too much space to be truly effective. It might have helped a little to crop the image to the edge of the bench on the left to make a little more concentrated and presented with a little more impact. A worthy entry into the challenge.
