Comment:
Every time an image of one of these great apes is presented, one had to wonder what they are thinking. A great close in image, it appears to be a little over exposed resulting in a loss of the natural orange color. From a technical stanpoint, it is richly detailed, properly focused portrait. The artistic impact is good, just not as powerful as it could be. Worthy entry into the challenge.

A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed it appears to be ever so slightly over sharpened - the edge detail on the subjects gives the image a composite look which is not a positive. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image but the slight over done white bloom in the sunset is a negative. A little softer focus on the subjects would have been a plus in addition to a little better light control. Fill flash would have been a good choice. A good entry into the challenge.

With properly controlled whites, this image has a very strong abstract feel to it while not being overly abstract in effect. A very good use of the natural curves of the vaulted ceiling and linear support structures. A wider angle lens would have helped this image as the left side is just slightly under focused in comparison to the right. A worthy entry into the challenge.

From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail in the foreground. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. A perfect demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus. A top ten image and a very strong contender for a ribbon. Well done.

Right on the edge of being oversharpened, this is a good solid commercial type of image image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, as previously stated, it has a certain appeal that is often found in professional portraits of children for special occasions. A very competant portrait and a good entry into the challenge.

From an artistic standpoint, it is very dramatic with interesting details and a rather good mix of sky and cloud with the very slight color. An interesting image in that is has a grayscale feel to it - very unusual in a color photograph. Each image has to be evaluated on it's own merits and while this is a pretty standard cityscape, it sets it'self apart due to it's unigue presentation. A very worthy entry into the challenge and a potential top ten image.
