Valet (Essence of Coatrack)by GeneralEComment: A very post modern feel to this - abstract without being over done, dramatic use of lighting and grain and a very interesting outlining technique allowing for a very "oriental" feel to the image - very similar to the Chinese symbol for grain in fact. No technicl issues to speak of and a very favorable artistic impression. Well done. |

"Garden book case"by redpandaComment: While technically competant, there is way too much flower from a perspective standpoint to be truly effective. Given the angle of the capture, the flower flowers tend to overpower the subject and while it does enhance the depth perception and gives the image a 3D feel, it's just not that interesting. |

Balcony Furnitureby bobonacusComment: The chairs and table disappear into the detailed wall - the eye has to search around to find the subject instead of being immediately attracted to it. Given it's rather bland color obscured positioning the subject fails to attract an interest. |

Take a Breakby levyj413Comment: A technically competant image that just fails to provoke any sort of wow factor or pop. While the colors are complimentary, the subject is just uninteresting and does not invite the viewer to stay and while and look around. |

Curves and Linesby dougi555Comment: Simple and efficient, very clever use of textures and blank space, rich and effective conversion to black and white, nothing technically over exposed or out of place. A sort-of abstract that is minimalist impresionism at it's finest giving making it an artistic success. Well done. |

Black Chairby DistantColoursComment: Pleasing sweeping lines and curves, almost abstract in concept - a very natural and effective image. Nothing is technically wrong or remarkable and this extends to it's artistic impression. One sometimes wants to see detail in the elements of the photo rather than smooth featureless elements, but this works for it's elegance. Well done. |

Lazy on a Sunday afternoonby vawendyComment: An enjoyable image reflecting the very nature of a lazy Sunday. Very competant conversion to black and white - successful from an artistic standpoint. Perhaps a little better focus/DOF control would have helped the favorable impression sufficiently to boost it's changes to be a top ten image. Still, a very worthy entry into the challenge. |

The Darken Pathby csolomon1Comment: Too much blank space at the top of the image, over done white light and a general lack of focus just doesn't work. While the author's intent was clear, it failed in execution. More thought and time composing the image would have helped. |

"The Darkness Within"by jomernerComment: As a result of the flat gray cast to the image that masks a slight over exposure of the subject, this isn't as impressive as it could be. |

Goodnight Maxby jcarComment: Dogs and fire places are a natural candid subject as they both fit together like honey and fresh bread. In this case, the image doesn't work due to under exposure of the subject and the over exposure of the fire in the fire place. A little more time composing this image would have helped significantly. |
