I have looked at this four times today and can't decide exactly where it fits in the pantheon of "minimalist" imagery - or if it does for that matter. Rather than debate with myself which is counter productive, I'll just grade it as a great image, well executed and let others decide about it making or breaking the challenge. Great image - I really like it.

Both simple and complex - elegant in conception and execution. Its a little too busy to be "minimalist" in my opinion, but I can see what the author is looking at here and agree that it certainly fits the criteria. Well done.

A little better shooting placement and some patience would have helped this a lot. The darker foreground is disturbed by the TV antenna and the sun bloom sort of ruins the "dark and gloomy" effect I believe the author was after. It has elements of minimalism, but fails to be complete. Still, effort counts.

This will probably annoy the author, but I think this would have worked much better in black and white or grey scale.Having said that, this has a lot working for it - the vagueness of the background, sharp/clear subject - it has all the prerequisites of a minimalist image (and in fact IS a minimalist image), but in my opinion, it just doesn't work with these colors. Still, a worthy entry.

A good effort, but it lacks the interest that others in this challenge - on third viewing, I really can't give it super high marks, although it does meet the criteria. However, it is a worthy effort and that counts for a lot.

While the construction of this image is minimalist, it sort of fails in execution on second viewing. A little more thought and some judicious cropping would improve this tremendously.
