What is it about photographers who want to photograph white against white. This is a very dramatic pose with a photogenic model and it's all washed out in a blast of white. Ugh.

This is a face with character - it shows a great amount of personality - everything from mischief to wisdom. Somehow it got screwed by the dark condition which hides the face almost in half - from no detail to too much detail. This could have been a Top Five image if a little more thought had gone into it. Really unfortunate that it came out this way.

Great DOF control, terrific lighting, a very nice conversion. Sadly the subject just isn't that interesting - boring in fact. Too bad, this had potential.

I had to come back to this three times because I initially wanted to vote this a 10, but was annoyed by something - couldn't figure it out. The light to dark transition (our left to right) goes from washout to fine detail in too abrupt a fashion. Don't misunderstand me - this is a great image, just the technical details messed it up. A little more work with a light meter and changing the angle of the face would have helped a lot.

Sometimes what seems like a good idea isn't. This is one that isn't. It's ugly. Maybe that was the intent, but this is truly ugly ugly - not plain ugly.
