Trees in Fog - Week 5by IndigoButterflyComment: I too like the effect fog can bring to shots, though usually mine just end up looking low contrast!
This is a nice, almost two dimensional looking scene that works well in B&W. |

Floating pipeby mitalapoComment: I was also initially thinking bluetooth headset, but after seeing some of the other comments I'm tending to agree with pipe.
Once again an interesting and curious composition. |

Roark Bluffby dandavisComment: The trees at the top look like they were painted on.
I too think the scale isn't really aparent here since there's no frame of reference. |

Deep Purpleby digifotojoComment: Really nice colours and texture, the whole thing looks like it's made of wax! |

downstreamby tomeComment: The first thing that strikes me and draws me in is the apparent line of the trees leading towards the hills in the background. Having said that, it does feel like the trees are blocking the left side of the shot a little.
For the large part I like the editing, the black and white tones work well for the sky and the hills in the background, but I feel the foreground and the trees are too dark. This may be why it feels like they are blocking out some of the image, because there is not much detail in the trees themselves.
It probably doesn't help that because of the contrast between the darker foreground and brighter background that only the background really draws attention, despite the fact that it seems to only play a supporting element to the trees.
Overall a nice shot, I like the sky and background hills but find myself wanting to see more of them rather than the trees. |

Bird Housesby rileyComment: Interesting angle, without your description I would have no idea what those little bird houses were. |

Hung Upby moondogComment: Nicely caught, I love the fact that all the people in the background have a look of mild interest like they've seen it all before. |

dunes-SDIM0103-by 2mccsComment: This is ever so slightly sinister looking. The lone figure on the long walk on the landscape combined with the fuzzyness of the pinhole make you fear for the person. |
