I don't think most people got the smile, despite the title. I think it works perfectly and adds a real edge to the meaning of the photo as well.

A photo like this will never score well here, but that's not because it's a bad photo, rather it's because it's not "pretty", in fact it's quite the opposite, it's grim and disturbing.

I think you have pulled off an excellent shot, don't be put off by the low score!

This is vastly underrated, but the posthumous blue in a "Best Of..." challenge more than makes up for the poor placing!

I loved it and it was one of only 4 photos I gave a 10!

This is very pretty indeed! Such amazing details even in the dark areas. I love the way you have dark on dark and maintained such delicate details and the bright wings against it all are just perfect!

For me this is grainy, the focus isn't quite right and the colours seem a bit off. The composition is a bit odd too, it's neither filling the frame or leaving enough background to give context.

I think the just off centre composition hurts this a little. It's not enough off centre to make a real difference, but it's enough to spoil the symmetry of her face. Still other than that I like it so 6 from me.
