- DRAGON's BREATH - by andrewtComment: This is a breath taking shot. You captured the texture of the fire. I like the upper part of it. Very good. |

Dancing Fountainsby angkokwengComment: Post Challenge
Andrew, you're too kind with your words.
Dustin Gooding, no star filter was used.
Benjamin, I didn't do anything. The torches are underground, shining upwards.
Chuck A, thanks for your input. I appreciate it.
Oh, I thought the above response in the Photographer's Comment. How do I do that?Message edited by author 2009-10-07 02:29:23. |

Life and Death on Earthby angkokwengComment: Hello JulietNN,
The challenge is "Life & Death". In my photo, at the background are blocks of flats for the living; at the foreground, on the right side, are cemeteries for the dead. That's why I titled my photo, "Life and Death on Earth". I was trying to show the "intertwined concepts" in this image :)

I think I must be missing something as I am not seeing the relevance of your shot to the challenge description. Can you let me know?
Your shot seems a little over sharpened and there is some grain in the clouds. Your colours are good.
Please drop me a line so I can see your perspective on this and talk about it more |

X-tra Power For Menby angkokwengComment: Hello Andi,
It is the sport man's right arm and tummy :) Yes, I knew it wasn't going to fare well.
Thank you SO much for commenting. I like it a lot. At least I know what went through your mind before clicking a number (vote).
Take care.

First Impression: An interesting take on the challenge but not something I find interesting although I did spend a while trying to work out what the shape in the bg was (my final guess is a sportmans right arm and back?)
Composition: Even though the image does nothing for me I do like the composition here.
Subject: Yup, its footwear and meets the challenge well, your photographer comments read like an advert rather than why you edited the image like this.
Technical: I've nowhere to go with the technical aspect of this shot, I just don't like it and guessing the original unedited image would have scored better. Nice white background (probably due to the over processing).
Final thoughts: For me I think it scored about right and have to applaud you for trying something new that you probably knew was not going to fare well in the challenge. |
