The problem here is the boat is plastic and the viewers are a bit anal. (please forgive me, but that's THE only word that fits)
White balance is off, use the cloudy setting or manually set your white balance. Focus seems strongest on the framing trees, the subjects seem like they are too far away. Must be nice to live on a lovely lake like this. Wonderful setting...boat needed to be wooden to pull off the date. Personally, I would have scored this a 5 or maybe a 6. Partly due to the challenge aspect and partly due to the lack of emphasis on the subject.

I love the dog's expression!! That's fun in action! The fur is overly exposed, white is very hard in the bright sun. In this case, try setting your white balance manually, it might help. The motion portion is beyond reproach, love it, too!

Dutch Coal Bucket

Solid photo, no glare spots on the bucket (very good job!) and still the lighting is good. A bit overly centered again....I like the face on the handle latch...might have been a good macro subject.

To answer your question in the Photographer's Comments...same way you fool birds, build a blind.

Very pretty and colorful! Nice action in the middle. I like the tree and shrubbery framing for the boat. Try re-cropping this, taking the bottom 1/4 off (hide the excess, but pretty flowers). I like this and if I had the time to vote, I would have gone either an 8 or a 9.
