A competitive spiritby bcenuComment: The image is well executed and I like the way the lighting fades to a proper black behind the figure. I don't think the POV is particularly flattering as there's no face-to-face contact for the viewer. The use of the reflective surface just mirrors this rather uninteresting view. The tight crop doesn't help either.
I think your scores indicate that there were few people who loved it and few who hated it. |

GSOHby mikeeeComment: Thanks for the higher-than-expected scores and all the great comments. I'm very surprised a comedy entry did so well and it has given me a reason to enter more comedy in the future.
It was a shame that the 150kb and 640px limit hurt the image so much; the printed element in particular uses a lot of data so I lost a lot of the detail in getting a file small enough. |

Why am I white......when everyone else is yellow?by SEGComment: I also thought it was a bit of a shoehorn, and only really worked because of the title. I don't find it puzzling.
However, it has great selective focus and exposure and the colours are vivid. The border detracts rather than adds. |

Who's Watching the Watchers..?by rob_smithComment: Originally posted by glad2badad: As a follow-up to the thread you opened I'd thought I'd comment...
Technically it may be a "camera", but c'mon...this is a photography site, what did you expect? I for one, anticipated regular cameras, you know the kind used for photography; not movies or videos.
If you do decide to go outside the anticipated box, then the image needs to be unique and interesting, not a snapshot-ish type of image. During voting I gave this a generous 4.
All JMO of course. :-) |
The challenge description specifically details 'any camera'. Seems to me you were robbed, Rob.
