Indeed...it took about an hour to get there and you better don't get seasick easily...
The way back was even worse due to more wind.. about one and a half hour. We were given kind of wetsuits to cover ourselves from sea foam.
But we were lucky - on Skellig Micheal itself we had sunshine and we were the last boat to depart back to the coast. So we had the wonderful experience to see the island almost deserted from tourists. There are about 10 boats with about 10-12 people landing each day.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can make the trip. If the sea is too rough they might cancel the tour.

WOW . that sky is INTENSE . i'm loving the way it seems to explode out from behind the monument (i had to google it as i wasnt sure if it was) ..
looking into those clouds there are many shapes that morph into faces and animals and such .. it sucks me in ..
this is very dramatic .. loving your composition too .. :)
