Comment by ubique:
These are beautiful B&W photographs, nicely seen and deftly executed.

For me, this essay is very strong because what it showcases is the difference between what the camera sees and what we see. It explores one of the things that makes cameras (and photographs) enchanting: that cameras and photographs can do far more than documenting reality – they can transform reality.

Sometimes the transformation is extravagant, with long exposures and similar tricks. But sometimes it's subtle as in this essay, where there are no tricks involved. Just a thoughtful and curious photographer–artist understanding and commanding her medium.

Thank you.

A good starting idea. I like very much this study of the geometric shapes by scrutinizing the details at hand.
I agree with Henry that we might need some guidance.
The first two images and the last one have to do with the invention of the wheel. Then you have the crisscrossing, very rigid and formal and a few random.
I believe that you have to revisit this and make it more cohesive. A fascinating topic.

This suffers a little for lack of symmetry which is needed here

Barbara, structures and shapes, besides the car, seems to be a study in a patterns and rhythm. Your cover image is my favorite of the bunch. I can only stay interested so long because the common thread is technical. A collection of disparate manmade objects without relationships or dependencies. Nothing holding this group together that challenges the viewer. What do you want the viewer to take away from this experience? Black and white was a good choice and technically your photographs are very good. I think this series has potential but I need more guidance.

A well presented set of images. I like the meditative impact of the repetitive shapes. I think I could gaze at one of them to make a 3D image pop up (like in a Magic Eye image). With that, the car is a wakeup call in the series.

I like this set. Repetition and geometry; abstract and context; arcs and lines; form and function. Nicely done!

Comment by posthumous:
this is good. I want more of these. The cumulative effect is an illusion that the same structures build our entire world. The car photo is my favorite. funny that a car is the most rebellious form in the batch.

Also effective is when you change the scale. I would definitely continue doing that, putting photos of small structures next to photos of large structures.

Nice portrait of the bond here. Has a kind of medieval feel, a pleasant wrench (not wench!) out of time. Lovely intimacy.
