An appealing image that meets the challenge well.
That's certainly some S-curve! Your defined areas of sharpness and softness are very effective they certainly make the most important elements of your subject stand out nicely. The nest building action adds interest to the shot and I find the low contrast between the bird and the sky background appealing too. It might have een even more effective without the other bird in the background or if he were in a better position and more recognisable.
Another excellent entry Janine, well done. |

I knew it was yours Janine before I even saw your name! As you know, I like these motion abstracts, many of your included. I love the subtle shades and the blend into more uniform and lighter base, it all feels very vibrant. Unfortunately this is not always going to work for the masses! I am disappointed for you that the score was so low and the lack of comments but perhaps it was just too abstract for them to appreciate? You'll always have one who appreciates them here Janine, thanks for your entry. |

Where Colorado Mountains Touch the Skyby Ja-9Comment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Gorgeous b/w tones here, lovely scene, very picturesque. I love that you shot so fast and yet the sky has that blurry long-exposure look! The only thing I'm not crazy about is the lack of a truly dominant element. The sky and mountains are competing with the forest and the open expanse of the foreground. Almost a true 50/50 split. I find the trees form a visual barrier between the mountains and foreground.
Hope this helps
