Hi Stefan,

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Your technique to produce this shot was truely painting with your camera and produced an entry that really met the challenge.

I like the flowing lines of light that create an intense set of curved lines. You filled the frame well with both symetrical and random light.

Because the dominant color of the lines is white, your white border accents this. For me the softening/blurring of the border detracts from the graphic, hard edges of your compostion. A contrasting black may have shown off the other vibrant colors.

Regards,
Theresa

cutting the head off of the person front and center hurts this shot quite a bit, it is almost as if you have chosen to silence him. I don't know why the hotel in the backround took precidence over the crowd.

Shows some of the difficultire of photo-journalism - too many peculiarities in these people (looking at camera, weird cropping, weird expressions). Positioning of the statue is weird. Prominence of the Hotel name almost makes the shot about that, rather than whatever the subject of the demonstration is. Almost weird enough to be about that weirdness itself - but your title, and the concentration of the image suggests otherwise.

Liked this one enough for a 6. Disappointed with the focus at the bottom of the image and would have cropped that out. Really don't care much for your frame. But the center of the image? Ooo la la!

I think I would have like this a bit better without the focus being off at the bottom...a judicious crop might have been in order. The rest of the image is very interesting...great colors and textures.

Wonderful color and abstract use of DOF. The textures and exposure create a pleasing organic quality to this composition.

This image would have been much stronger, I think, if the bottom half of the young man in the bottom centre of the frame's face hadn't been cut off.

OK I admit it, I had to chuckle when I saw 'Hotel Borg' - it's the nerd in me. The grayscale could prolly do with a little more contrast, especially on the background. I'm not sure I particularly like the cropped head at the front either, looks a little odd to me. Stepping back some and getting a little more of the crowd may have helped. I'm not sure what the signs say, but it's an interesting photojournalistic shot.
