Buddiesby jomariComment by MaryO: That is one cool tree; I'm so glad you kept it instead of cropping in on the horses. Love their expressions, like they think you are intruding on their togetherness. |

The-Night-Visitorsby jomariComment by HarveyG: One of the most satisfying moments of wildlife photography is getting the shot despite many challenges. In so doing you have to at least be adept in using your camera under pressure. You could go to the zoo and spend hours till you get a NatGeo like image and palm it off in a challenge and even then it will be picked to death or voted down because of some flaw that could really only be corrected or anticipated in a studio environment.
You nailed it and in the dark with a relatively short zoom. Even if it was on auto and you used the popup flash. They are looking at you and their environment and their ring tails are clearly in the picture, the composition is also good considering the short time you had and remember they were in the dark when you aimed the camera. This image and moment will long live in your memory and will not fade like a zoo shot. Well done. |

Beetleby jomariComment by nam: I don't mind the blown background at all - matter of fact, I kind of like it. I could use more detail on the horse on the far right, though. Beautiful animal and very nice high key portrait of him. |

Beetleby jomariComment by ursula: Beautiful horse. Not sure about the almost completely blown out background - the horse looks good on white, but it seems a bit much. Even parts of the horse are blown. Not sure ... |
