swan---goldwater0001.jpgby jomariComment by SaraR: Ah, a black swan - these are native to the Southern hemisphere, I knew. We do get them here in the Uk - they were brought here as ornamental birds for grand estate lakes in Victorian times, and some have escaped to the wild. They are notoriously hard to expose for properly, and you have made a good job of it. |

Lake-Wendouree-030.jpgby jomariComment by SaraR: You do have some wonderful wildlife! I can see where Ter is coming from - I think it may be that the camera exposure meter has been confused by the bright whites of the Ibis and over-exposed somewhat. I don't know your camera at all, so am unsure how much control you have to over-ride the camera deciding settings, but if you can I would suggest under-exposing by +1/3 of a stop from the camera recommendation. |

kookaburra-002.jpgby jomariComment by SaraR: These birds make me smile every time I see a picture of them - they look so unlikely with their big heads, stocky bodies and short tails. A very clear photo with plenty of detail - but perhaps 'Kookaburra lives in the old aerial' doesn't have quite the same ring as 'Kookaburra lives in the old gum tree' - that said, if you get any more photos please post them! |

Beetle-and-Ollie.jpgby jomariComment by cgino: I can imagine the brown horse saying "quit eyeing my grass!" to the black horse :-) I love how you've cropped it such that they're both just poking their head into the frames! |

Newport-park-018-Water-Fowl.jpgby jomariComment by geinafets: The bottom one has quite the stern expression! : ) I might have cropped a bit off the bottom, but other than that I really like this. Even though they're in the reeds, you can still see them very clearly. |
