Jeune Fille Doréby tangueraComment by wyverndragon: Great idea, and beautiful posing. I love how her hair falls over the near shoulder to bury her in mystery. But the over-exposed table lamp is killing it for me. Usually you don't want anything in a frame to be brighter than the main subject, or it pulls the attention away from the main subject. |

Through Yonder Windowby tangueraComment by overboard: I had a teacher tell me once that the goal of a picture is to have the viewer spend time with the image and come away with something, anything. The more time they spend, the more they get. This work is one of those images that you really spend time with. If you doubt it, check out the comments... much more than the usual. Surprised it didn't ribbon, let alone get a 10. Brilliantly artistic.
BTW.. it was time you ribboned, you certainly show the talent...."Great Dames" is AMAZINGLY ARTISTIC! |

Afternoon Strollby tangueraComment by blindjustice: For some reason, this shot really works; it has a nice artsy- phorjournalistic feel of a seventies or eighties magazine; I think the elements that make the shot are the fence placement; the plant in the foreground, the dog and the striped dress. |

Great Damesby tangueraComment by snaffles: What a gorgeous double portrait, Johanna! And huge congrats on your first ribbon!!! WOOT! :-)
ETA: seconding the previous comment by CNovack on the film noir aspect of this shot. Very emotive of that period, very Mickey Spillane-ish. Excellent work. Message edited by author 2011-05-10 19:29:52. |
