Mom thinks 10; I think 6.38; DPC: 5.74by tangueraComment by Alain: Hello, I voted a few days ago, now returning for comments. I think that you estimated your score very well, but not your mom...;) lol, I first gave you a six and now raising it to seven, I predict that you will finish at 6,2477 |

the conversationby tangueraComment by pamb: I too thought this was a piece of rough sawn timber; what an incredible place and you've captured it perfectly. The scale drawn by the inclusion of the people is awe inspiring. Where is this? |

the conversationby tangueraComment by MadMan2k: I really like this. It reminds me of places I really enjoy, and the textures you've highlighted in the rocks are fascinating. The two guys also really work well to give it scale and are positioned nicely. |

finishing touchesby tangueraComment by Lydia: *sigh*
This is why I don't enter "Best of..." and rarely enter FS anymore. NOT because I won an international competition (!!), but because the ones I really love usually don't do well in them and I end up disappointed.
CONGRATULATIONS (again) on your fine award, Johanna!

finishing touchesby tangueraComment by Catherine_B: "Ah, this is so rich. What a perfect example of why the scores on DPC are truly meaningless. This brother of this image won an international photography contest, competing against 11,500 entries from 79 countries. On DPC it didn't even make it to a 6.0."
Truly a shame that this photo didn't score higher and place in the upper half of the challenge. I struggle with the score issue on here, and I have to keep reminding myself that the value of DPC isn't the scores or ribbons, but what is gained by entering challenges and expanding my photography skills. While I'm sorry your photo didn't do better, it does help me to see someone as talented as you are struggle with the score stuff too. |
